Arctic Sun Heating and Cooling - Technician: Tyler Herndon
First, Arctic Sun Heating and Cooling came to us by word-of-mouth recommendation from a family member. Our A/C malfunctioned late in the evening on Friday, July 5. It was after hours when we called, and our call was promptly answered by a professional and respectful human (was not an AI chatbot nor an automated voice attendant).
They paged their technician, and we were on the telephone with Tyler 15 minutes later. Tyler was super friendly, respectful, and professional. He offered to come out Friday night or Saturday morning, but he left the decision to us. Given the house was already creeping up to 85 degrees at 7:45 PM, we opted for Tyler to come out ASAP, which he promptly agreed to. After checking his schedule, he let us know that he could be at our house at 10:15 PM on a Friday night... WHAT??? No difference in charges between Friday night and Saturday morning.
He showed up on time, REFUSED to put his truck in our driveway (very respectful), and got to work. He quickly diagnosed the issue (fan capacitor on the outside unit was fried - not surprising). He provided us a quote to fix it, we agreed, and the A/C was back up and running within 20 minutes.
Before coming into our home, Tyler donned the little boot covers and was incredibly polite but also personable. (Hint: He's a GREAT GUY.) We had to ASK about their service plans - he did not even mention any upsell items or try to get us into a Service Contract.
Needless to say, we signed up for the GOLD Service Contract (basically paid for itself with the discount we got along with it), and Tyler got a big tip for us taking him away from his four kids and wife so late on a Friday night.
THIS is the company you want coming out to your house!

Frank & Justin from Arctic Sun were sent to repair my A/C that shut down during the hottest week of the summer. It was 90 degrees inside my house. They faced complex problems within my system and worked here several hours to restore the A/C to peak performance. During their time here, they not only demonstrated a vast knowledge base but also showed a true caring to fix and make the system bulletproof. To say that they went above and beyond would not be enough. They worked as if it was their own Mom & Dad's system that needed repair. They worked diligently, were extremely polite, respectful of us and our property. They impressed us so much, that we had already recommended Arctic Sun to family, friends, and neighbors.

Sam is fantastic. Patient, respectful, and more than able to walk a layman through the particulars of HVAC. This employee is a decided asset to Arctic Sun Heating & Cooling, especially after encountering others from varying firms who use scare tactics better suited to a comedy sketch—not funny.
Sam's demeanor reflects top-notch customer service from beginning to end. Personal character! Our experience with him inculcated trust, which is increasingly rare or flat out not there.
He fixed our AC unit in a timely manner. We exchanged information, but there was no hard-sell attempt to remove and replace that which wasn't broken. Sure, equipment will need replacing eventually, but it won't demand exorbitant excess.
Wear and tear happen, but guilting senior citizens or anyone, for that matter, about their unwillingness to repair what amounts to pie in the sky while gleefully offering to finance unnecessary debt is unconscionable.
How relieved and grateful my husband and I were to meet Sam. He waited patiently for others to finish their pitches before walking us through a realistic tour of our HVAC system and treating us like the competent adults we are.

Billy was out in short order, diagnosed the problem as a drainage pipe issue (knocked out of kilter by recent new washer installation). He Saved Me Literally Thousands of Dollars
I cannot emphasize strongly enough how pleased I am with the service provided by the Arctic Sun technician. He saved me literally thousands of dollars on my AC system. Just earlier yesterday morning a representative from Snell gave me the terrible news that my entire heat pump system would have to be replaced — no alternative. And it would cost at least $10,000 to $15,000. Furthermore, I would also be without AC for a very long time due to getting shipments of equipment.
So I called Arctic Sun yesterday morning because they had acquired the business of my original installer. They got a technician (Sam, I believe) out to my house in the afternoon, and within minutes he had diagnosed my problem and had my AC running. Then before leaving he did a complete power wash of my outdoor compressor unit. The entire cost was just under $400!
Last night my wife and I slept comfortably in a cool bedroom, unlike the one which was 88 degrees the night before.

I Learned My Lesson with Arctic Sun
I had another company come for a service call and was trying to replace my system and overcharge me for cleaning. Arctic Sun came to service and cleaned my system and did a full inspection. They said the system was working. They originally installed the system and I should have stuck with them. Learned my lesson and now they will continue to be my company of choice.

Moved and continued service in my new house. Yesterday, Friday at 4:55 p.m., came home and realized our AC was not working. Outside temp 97 degrees.
